Just a note on this subject... I was homeschooled from 7th to 12th grades. The summer between 11th & 12th, my mom offered to let me go to school my senior year so I could "graduate with a class" ... and I said NO WAY!!! As a homeschooled kid, there are so many advantages to homeschooling that it really isn't a choice, IMO. We had friends at church, and occasionally in the neighborhood (but usually only at church) and my parents' friends usually had kids that we got to be around at times. We never lacked for friends, though they were often much older or much younger :)

I have these same fears from time to time. I realize that there is so much my children have gained from learning at home, but I always question if there is some great friendship they have missed out on. I have to pray about things again, and I am ready to continue in our path of home education. Good article.
